*The Role *
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, hardworking and experienced individual to join our busy Litigation and Dispute Resolution team. This is a permanent position and the work undertaken will be predominantly Housing Litigation.
The role within the team is extremely varied and includes providing legal advice and assistance to the Council in respect of all housing, homelessness and anti-social behaviour matters. This includes dealing with injunctions, possession cases and other ASB work, including tenancy fraud. The successful applicant will also be required to deal with housing disrepair cases and will have the opportunity to engage in more strategic and problem-solving project work.
The successful candidate will work within an experienced team of Solicitors that are experts in their field and will gain experience of a wide range of matters. There is also scope to learn aspects of Education law.
You will need to demonstrate excellent communication, analytical and drafting skills along with the ability to undertake advocacy. You must be able to manage a caseload with minimum supervision and have the ability to work well within a team. Previous supervisory experience and a proactive approach would also be welcomed.
*Those applicants who have Commercial/Civil litigation experience or who are currently working in areas such as Criminal, Family or PI and who have transferable skills; are also encouraged to apply for the role.
* *ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:*
* Solicitor admitted for not less than 2 years, or of equivalent experience. Barrister having completed a Pupillage and called to the Bar for not less than 4 years.
* Ability to organise own workload and work under pressure with minimum supervision.
* Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
