John,
Yesterday, Politico reported that Hakeem Jeffries — the fifth-ranking Democrat in the U.S. House — took a clear swipe at our bold, progressive, working-class champions like AOC:
“Do we want to win, do we want to govern, or do we want to be internet celebrities?”
We know we can win, govern, AND be popular with voters. If the DCCC would listen, AOC, Cori Bush, and Jamaal Bowman could show them.
Hakeem Jeffries and the DCCC would rather insult progressives like AOC than work with them to win elections and improve the lives of the American people. And this continued hostility toward progressives shows that establishment Democrats don’t have an interest in working together to do better.
For the DCCC, protecting their corporate members and donors is more important than winning progressive change for the people. Donate right now to help us fight for a Democratic Party that has one goal: To do everything it can to win economic, social, and racial justice for the people.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
