With the run-off Senate election fast approaching, all eyes are on Georgia. One of our founding affiliates, Georgia STAND-UP [[link removed]] , has been a key force working to expand democracy in the greater Atlanta region for decades.

Over the past year, Georgia STAND-UP has been registering people to vote, recruiting people to fill out the Census, and working in coalition with Stacy Abrams to realize multi-racial feminist democracy in a state with widespread, systemic voter supression aimed at Black voters. The Georgia run-off gives Georgia STAND-UP an extended opportunity to register disenfranchised voters. Will you support their work with a gift today? [[link removed]]

As a think and act tank for working communities that not only has a track record of weaving together interests of labor unions, transit equity, affordable housing and economic development, Georgia STAND-UP also happens to run one of the largest call centers in the South.

Through their groundbreaking 2020 civic engagement campaign, they made over 400,000 calls, sent over 680,000 texts, and reached over 60,000 people through canvassing. Ahead of the November election, Georgia STAND-UP sent over 30,000 texts to correct the record on a cynical misinformation campaign aimed at young voters. Throughout early voting and election day, they mobilized a massive voter care campaign at the polls.

[[link removed]] The stakes for these run-off Senate races couldn’t be higher. To quote Georgia STAND-UP Executive Director Deborah Scott [[link removed]] : “Democracy is at stake in this election. It’s so fitting that it’s happening right here in Georgia — a Southern state, a former slave state — and the base of it is Black women... After the election, we will go back into holding elected officials accountable. We go right into the mayor’s race next year. So what we’re asking people to do is to support groups that will be on the ground and be here working on multiple-level issues every single day.”

Over the next few weeks, Georgia STAND-UP will focus on voter registration ahead of the December 7 registration deadline. They are also mounting a sophisticated voter outreach and education campaign. Will you stand with Georgia and support Georgia STAND-UP with a meaningful gift to help them grow their pivotal work? [[link removed]]
