The petition was signed by 65 Republican members of the State House of Representatives right as the country is seeing a record-breaking surge in coronavirus cases (over 100,000 new cases per day).

THE FACTS:

Governor Edwards' science-based measures have allowed Louisiana to overcome two waves of COVID. By signing the petition, 65 House Republicans are seeking to reverse this progress and put our people at risk of infection without consulting with the full Louisiana Legislature.

Louisiana has largely avoided a third wave. Some northern parishes have seen an alarming uptick in cases but the rest of the State has seen a steady percent of positivity that is lower than the national average.

Now more than ever, we need the Governor to be able to lead and govern during this crisis without political interference.

This is a win, but it's not over.

House Repubicans are likely to appeal this ruling, so we must stay vigilant and make sure our representatives know that we support the Governor and want to keep all Louisianans safe.

Join our fight and help us make sure that all of Louisiana can stay informed by making a donation of $25, $50, $100 or any amount today. [[link removed]]
