Hi,

Well y'all, it's been a long, long election season for all of us. Now that the dust has settled a bit, I wanted to check in.

You are the beating heart of this movement. This year, we came closer than ever to flipping Texas, and the credit for that progress rests squarely with you.

You gave your energy. You gave money. You gave your time. You spent hours upon hours making calls, sending texts, getting Texans registered to vote and ready to go to the polls. Sharing the message that this state -- and our future -- is ours to take back.

When the results came in this past week, I thought about you and everything you poured into turning Texas blue. I know many of us are feeling quite the mix of emotions right now -- joy and relief at knowing Joe Biden is our new president, and sadness at still not quite getting Texas over the line.

I want you to know how much it meant to have you standing with us. Because you showed up, we closed the gap in Texas to 5 points. We showed beyond a doubt that we are the biggest battleground state, with the wins to prove it:

• We cast the third most votes for Joe Biden in the country, third to California and Florida.
• We increased our votes at the top of the ticket by 1.33 million, a 34% increase in the number of Democratic voters.
• We grew our Democratic vote by 34.6% compared to 2016, second only to Arizona among battleground states.
• We flipped Tarrant County in a presidential election for only the second time since 1952, joining Lyndon Baines Johnson as only the Democratic nominees to win Tarrant County the past 50 years.
• We flipped Williamson County at the presidential level.
• We re-elected Lizzie Fletcher and Colin Allred -- holding onto two tenuous congressional seats and giving two Democratic superstars another clear mandate to fight for Texas families.
• We won key down ballot races across the state, from sheriffs to school boards.
• We elected Roland Gutierrez to our State Senate, flipping the seat we needed to block Dan Patrick's runaway right-wing agenda.

As our president-elect says, keep the faith. We moved the dial forward toward the change that must come. Every year, we inch closer to turning Texas blue. If there's any team with the fire and the grit to get it done, it's this one.
