Lifting Us All: Working Toward a Hunger-Free America & How You Can Help This November
3 Weeks Until Giving Tuesday!

[link removed][UNIQID]

As we enter the holiday season, more Americans are experiencing hunger than any year in recent history. We are doing everything we can to help -- from providing SNAP and WIC support in NYC, to operating the USDA Hunger Hotline to connect callers to food aid, to researching and advocating for the policies needed to alleviate this crisis.

We can't do it without you. Thanks to your support, we have already been able to expand our SNAP outreach and build the most comprehensive online database of food pantries and soup kitchens in the country. Help us reach our Giving Tuesday goal of $7,500 by donating $5-$10 to the fight against hunger ([link removed][UNIQID]) , or by sharing our campaign with your colleagues, family and friends. Every donation counts.
Anti-Hunger Advocates Congratulate Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Historic Win
Hunger Free America looks forward to collaborating with the incoming Biden-Harris Administration ([link removed][UNIQID]) on developing and enacting the policies needed to end hunger. Both politicians have long histories of fighting for economic and food justice and have spoken out passionately on the urgent need to end domestic hunger. We note that, in the 1970s, there was strong bipartisan support for fighting hunger, and we hope the G.O.P. takes inspiration from past Republican leadership and works with the new administration to increase the federal safety net in the midst of this devastating public health and economic crisis.
Join Us for a Virtual Community Dinner
Together with Repair the World Brooklyn and Base Brooklyn, we'll be hosting a "Friendsgiving Shabbat" dinner on Friday, November 20th. We'll come together virtually to share dinner, swap recipes, learn more about food insecurity, and find out what you can do this holiday season to help your neighbors put food on the table. Sign up for the event here ([link removed][UNIQID]) .

Volunteer From Home

Join the anti-hunger fight this month by helping us conduct our annual survey of food pantries and soup kitchens. You'll help out by calling pantries and kitchens to ask about the struggles they face, changes in demand due to the recession, policy recommendations and more. Sign up online ([link removed][UNIQID]) or contact Yaryna Shura at [email protected] for information about how to participate.

National Hunger Hotline Provides a Vital Service
The National Hunger Hotline, run by Hunger Free America on behalf of USDA, connected more than 3,000 callers to food assistance in October. We referred over 1,800 callers to local SNAP offices and connected nearly 1,400 callers with a nearby food pantry. Sign up to receive our Hunger Hotline monthly e-newsletter ([link removed][UNIQID]) to learn more about federal nutrition programs.
Celebrating Tribal Communities & Cultures

Hunger Free America is thrilled to work with Carly Griffith Hotvedt ([link removed][UNIQID]) this month to spread awareness about food insecurity among Tribal nations. Hotvedt is the Director of Tribal Enterprise with the Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative, and she will share her expertise on food insecurity among American Indians and Tribal agriculture enterprise development. Follow us on Instagram ([link removed][UNIQID]) to see her videos later this month!

Friday Community Meetings Will Resume Monthly

([link removed][UNIQID]) In tomorrow's meeting, Joel will discuss the results of the election and what it means for anti-hunger policy.
