A group of over 50 Conservative MPs have launched a group called the Covid Recovery Group this week and one of their three guiding principles is the need for local contact tracing.

By asking them to use their position as a bloc in the Conservative party to put pressure on Rishi Sunak before his November spending review, we think that money can be found for locally led, public contact tracing in England. Will you please email their two chairmen, Mark Harper MP and Steve Baker MP, asking them to push Rishi Sunak for the funds?

With the November Spending Review coming up on November 25th, Rishi Sunak will be thinking about where he should invest.

Please write to the two chairmen of the Covid Recovery Group now to let them know you support vital, local, publicly led track and trace, and that Serco, and co should hand the money over to local public health teams!

The two Chairmen can email Rishi Sunak on your behalf, putting pressure within their own party.

Rishi Sunak is much more likely to bow to their pressure than ours, but we can embolden this group through writing to them en masse: we want local contact tracing in our communities!

Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have track and trace in public hands (although Scotland has given out some private contracts recently, which you can take action on here), but in England we need to kick private companies out - any help people outside of England can offer is hugely appreciated!

With several senior Conservative MPs, most of the media and the public all in agreement that we need local track and trace, they must be feeling the pressure. 

It's the perfect time to move the dial and make sure public health teams are actually given the resources to lead.

Together, taking action, we can make our communities safer by getting a publicly led track and trace system that stops this virus ripping through our villages, towns and cities. Thanks so much for taking action.
