Friend,
At midnight on Tuesday, October 27th, less than a week before November 3, Facebook’s preemptive ban on new political and social ads went into effect.
Thousands of candidates and political groups worked diligently to submit ad content (according to Facebook’s stated policies) before the deadline went into effect. And then…
Facebook dropped the ball. Like they always do.
Thousands of ads were rejected with no explanation and no opportunity to appeal -- just days before a major election .
If this happened to you, please fill out our form and share the content you intended to run as a paid Facebook ad.

Facebook’s utter failure to abide by their own rules was downright devastating for advocacy organizations and political campaigns (especially state and local races). They missed out on hours, if not days, of crucial fundraising and get out the vote time.
And then just yesterday, Facebook and Google announced that they’re expanding this ad moratorium. Indefinitely. This means advocacy organizations and political campaigns are missing out on important post-election moments, unable to fundraise and communicate with their supporters.
That’s why Accountable Tech is collecting examples of political and social ads that Facebook rejected without cause to make the case that when it comes to our democracy, Facebook doesn’t just drop the ball sometimes but always.
We can hold them accountable for their egregious failure. Click here to complete our form and submit your rejected ad content.
