POLL: Few voters last week said they wanted the immigration policies Joe Biden proposed

John,

Regardless of how all of last week's elections eventually turn out, take heart in knowing that the majority of the voters agree with you on most immigration policy issues.

And be reassured that NumbersUSA will continue to use all of our tools to give voice to those majority views to whoever holds power in the coming year.

Rasmussen on Tuesday revealed that its polling of voters during election week suggests that a "prospective President Biden may be at odds with voters if he pursues many of his proposed immigration policies."

For example, the polling company stated, "Biden has pledged to greatly reduce the level of enforcement against illegal immigration," but only 30% of voters agree with Biden that there is too much enforcement.

Instead, Rasmussen found that 64% of voters said the current level of immigration enforcement in the fourth year of the Trump Administration is either about right (24%) or not enough (40%).

And regardless of who got their vote last week, voters opposed the Biden plan for more chain migration by nearly 2-to-1:

"Biden has said he intends to increase the number of extended family members allowed into the country, even though 57% (of voters) remain opposed to current policy and think legal immigrants should be able to bring only their spouse and children with them."

-- Rasmussen Reports

Only 32% of last week's voters said they favor extended family migration at all.

Friends, NumbersUSA has always had as one of our most important functions the role of giving voice to the American majority on immigration policies when the popularity of those positions is obscured or even silenced by much of the mainstream media.

For example, we pounded social media channels with immigration issues throughout the fall. Hundreds of millions of our messages were viewed.

Our most important job, though, is making it easy for voters to express their views directly to Members of Congress. Please contribute to our Action campaign that will help deliver millions of grassroots messages to the new Congress.

We must help newly elected officials who support immigration expansionism and loose labor markets understand that voters chose them for other reasons -- not for their immigration positions which voters overwhelmingly oppose.

Consider, for instance, Senators like Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), Susan Collins (R-Maine), and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) who have routinely supported more foreign workers to compete with struggling American workers in construction, hospitality and service occupations.

We can't let them act as though their re-election was an endorsement of their view that, when businesses say they are having trouble finding Americans to take jobs in those occupations, the government should bring in new foreign workers. Rasmussen asked that very question of voters last week and found that only 19% said foreign workers are the solution.

"65% of voters say it is better for the country if these businesses raise the pay and try harder to recruit non-working Americans even if it causes prices to rise."

-- Rasmussen Reports

Please help us use all of our tools to get that message from the voters to all candidates who have been elected to federal office this month.
