Serving refugees and immigrants this year despite the challenges

Here at USCRI we’re proud of all we accomplished in 2020, despite a global pandemic and an Administration hostile to immigrants. A few highlights of the year:
* USCRI’s legal team provided low-cost or free legal assistance to 1,866 refugees and immigrants.
* We welcomed 2,945 people to their new homes all across the United States.
* We stepped up our work on Capitol Hill in response to the Administration’s anti-immigrant stance.
* As the economic and health effects of COVID-19 set in, we provided 1,000 people with emergency cash assistance.
* We helped 1,500 survivors of human trafficking build new lives.
* Our office in El Salvador provided dozens of young people with job training, psychological counseling, legal assistance, and educational opportunities.
* We ensured that over 6,000 refugees had access to health care and a clear understanding of how and when to seek medical care.
* We led the charge for the safety and welfare of unaccompanied migrant children.

And we did it all with you standing by our side. Thank you for your steadfast support in these very difficult times. When we work together as a nation, great things happen.

Welcome home!

With only three days’ notice, we were able to secure apartments side-by-side so this family of 8 from Honduras could remain together in their new home in the Raleigh, NC area.
