Hi John,

As the Democratic fight for progress moves to the Senate races in Georgia, Stacey Abrams has a clear goal in mind: “I want to push back against this anachronistic notion that we can’t win in Georgia. This is going to be the determining factor of whether we have access to health care and access to justice in the United States.”

We expected Democrats to issue an overwhelming blue wave this election, fueled in part by the record number of progressive women running for office -- but the truth is that the GOP’s extremist agenda has stronger support than we anticipated. Now, the progress we can achieve for voting rights, reproductive justice, affordable access to health care, and climate action increasingly relies on winning in Georgia and revamping the fight for the Senate for the next election.

Although a record 20 women ran for the Senate in 2020, none were successful in flipping their Senate seat. And despite significant gains in the House, progressive women candidates still struggle to make a mark in our legislature. If we want to lay the groundwork needed to reform a system that favors the few, then the work starts now-- but the truth is we’ll need to ramp up our narrowing budget.

John, we can ensure that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have the structural support they need to push the progressive legislation we’ve waited for in Washington. First, we need to support Democratic candidates Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff in Georgia as they work to take back the Senate -- and then we MUST look ahead. Women, especially women of color, have proven time and time again that they can lead the fight for change in this country.

We need to make sure that women have the proper tools to elevate their voices and gain the representation they need to take back the Senate and defend women’s rights even at the highest level of our judiciary. Can we count on you to pitch in $10, $25, $50 or anything you’re able to to help Democrats in Georgia flip the Senate and ensure that women’s progress in politics doesn’t end in 2020? >> [link removed]
