Right now, the ASPCA is removing 40 dogs from an overcrowded property in Western Texas.
These dogs, ranging from about two months to 14 years old, toppled over each other to greet our responders when they arrived on the scene. Although friendly, we could immediately see that some of the dogs exhibited medical issues, and a few are so skinny that you can count their ribs.
Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, our work to help vulnerable animals never stops—but neither does your compassion.

Until now, the dogs’ owners tried to manage their growing number of animals but became overwhelmed and admitted that the situation was too much for them to handle. They could no longer afford to provide proper food and care for their pets. They realized something had to be done before it was too late.
The ASPCA stepped in at a most critical time to alleviate the stress and help all involved—people and pets alike. Thanks to the support of dedicated animal lovers like you, these animals now have a chance to find a new, happy home.

More than 20 puppies and dogs will go to a shelter in Dallas, where they will receive medical care and behavioral evaluations before being made available for adoption. The remaining dogs will be transported to the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center and receive daily care and enrichment until they’re ready to find new homes.
Your generosity allows us to provide the resources necessary to help animals in need, like the ones in this Texas community. Please help continue to be there for the animals who need you most.
