The events of the last year have been momentous. The Coronavirus pandemic has turned the world upside down and shattered so much received wisdom about how things ought to be.

This presents us with a real opportunity to advance the cause of nuclear disarmament. We need to take advantage of this situation, but CND's income has dipped, which means we're short of vital funds to act.

If you can afford it, please help by making a donation ([link removed]) to CND, so we do not lose this opportunity to campaign for a new vision of society, free from the threat of nuclear war.

At home, the economic crisis caused by the pandemic means that all bets are off when it comes to government spending. Internationally, momentum is building towards global nuclear abolition, with the UN's Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) about to come into force.

In this climate, CND needs to be campaigning more urgently than ever. But the crisis means that we don't have the funds to mobilise as we should. Unless we can raise £35,000 we may be forced to cut back on some of our activities - such as our youth work, our publications, and our outreach to the public - just when they are needed most.

For us to start cutting back at this critical moment - when global nuclear abolition is on the agenda - will be a huge setback. Can you help with a donation? Your support will help ensure that momentum is not lost in this time of enormous upheaval.
