*The Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall Nottingham (TRCH) is now looking for a Heritage Officer to join the Creative Learning Team at this prestigious East Midlands venue.* Owned and managed by Nottingham City Council, TRCH is a large-scale touring venue presenting a wide range of professional performances and genres from companies such as Northern Ballet, the National Theatre, Opera North, the Halle Orchestra and the RSC, with an annual audience of over 600,000.
Established in 2001, TRCH Creative Learning department works with schools, community groups and other organisations on a varied education programme, providing workshops and events alongside our visiting companies, as well as bespoke projects, such as work with older people.
This brand new part-time Heritage Officer post, created by a successful bid to Heritage Fund, will involve the management and development of the venue's heritage and archive work. Following the Theatre Royal Nottingham's 150th anniversary in 2015, the venue, working in partnership with the University of Nottingham, has developed a compelling heritage programme, with trained volunteers working on our physical archive, an oral history programme, talks and open days and a new digital archive atwww.ourtheatreroyal.org [ [link removed] ]
Significant funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund now enables us to create a specialised heritage role to oversee this programme of work, as well as other exciting initiatives. Work will include management of volunteers, developing a new young people's heritage programme, expanding our digital archive, over-seeing our public heritage events and continuing to develop TRCH as a key venue for the development of theatre heritage.

The successful candidate will be based at the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall Nottingham in a newly created heritage workspace, which will serve as both an office and a resource for volunteers. The successful candidate will be line-managed by the Creative Learning Manager and will become an essential part of the learning team, as well as the overall TRCH staff team.

Nottingham City Council provides residential care for children and young people from 10 to 18 years old. We have 12 homes including semi-independent houses based around the city. Our aim is to make our homes places where each child and young person is able to contribute positively to their environment and develop important skills that will equip them for adult life. As a children's residential social care worker you will work as part of an energetic team, but also be prepared to lone work with young people; providing around the clock care and supervision to children and young people in a children's home or semi-independent house with the support of the home management team. If you are passionate about supporting children and young people in care and feel you could find ways to help children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, this maybe the role for you! Awareness of the principles behind the Children Acts 1989 and 2000, Leaving Care Act 2000 and Criminal Justice Act 1994 An understanding of the social, cultural, physical and emotional needs of children, especially those with challenging behaviour. Ability to motivate individual or groups of children through social and leisure activities, towards developing personal and social skills. Motivated to work with children who demonstrate challenging behaviour in a residential setting.
