Ask the California Air Resources Board to
Reject the Tropical Forest Standard

An international delegation of Indigenous Peoples have arrived in California to urge the California Air Resources Board to reject the “California Tropical Forest Standard” (TFS) at its Board meeting on Thursday September 19, 2019.

The TFS would set standards for tropical forest carbon credits, which would be used by the international aviation sector to “offset” its carbon emissions, and by the state of California, should it accept these projects into its cap and trade system. The delegation will particularly speak to how forest carbon offsets harm Indigenous Peoples.

If you are in the Northern California area we encourage you to attend the hearing to urge CARB reject the Tropical Forest Standard.
A Facebook event with the needed information can be found here. : [link removed]

If you are unable to attend the meeting you can still support the Indigenous delegation by leaving a comment demanding a just transition from false solutions like the Tropical Forest Standard.
