Dear John,
Three months before my mother, Nadine, passed away, she arrived at my house for our regular Wednesday get-together. But something about her face had changed. She looked at me and said, "Who are you?"

I didn't cry when my mom didn't recognize me. In the three years I cared for her, I tried to never let her see me cry.

That moment, forever etched in my mind, is the human cost of Alzheimer's disease. It's something I never want another daughter — or son, sibling, sister or friend — to have to go through. That's why I'm writing to you today.

The Alzheimer's Association was there for my family from day one, with information, resources, advocacy; and perhaps most importantly, a community to get us through some of the toughest times of our lives. It's because of that community that I've pledged to triple-match every gift made to this $250,000 Holiday Triple Match Challenge — up to $250,000.

My gift will support the Association's efforts to advance the technology that powers its global research efforts and its care and support programs.

Your gift today will help provide the care and support vitally needed by families like mine, while also advancing critical research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for the terrible disease that has robbed my family, and millions of others, of so much.

But this match is only available until December 31, so this is the perfect time to make your first gift to support the Association's crucial work. Please, make your gift now, while it can have triple the impact.

My mother Nadine and me

Your gift today can have 3X the impact in providing Alzheimer's care and support and advancing critical research.
