Part 2: Love as a Transformative Force
------------------------------------------------------------

** Tomorrow, Thursday, November 12, 2020
6 — 7:30PM PT
------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Friend,

Join us in honoring Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis ([link removed]) , who has dedicated to working for underrepresented communities in the political sphere since the 1980s. Supervisor Solis has made a history of “firsts;” being the first Latina to serve in the United States cabinet under the Obama administration as the Secretary of Labor as well as being the first woman to represent the San Gabriel Valley in the California State Legislature and the first Latina elected to the California State Senate.

While serving in the U.S. Congress, Solis always focused on improving the lives of working families and fought for expanding affordable healthcare as well environmental justice. She authored the Green Jobs Act which allocated funding for green collar job training for Veterans, displaced workers, at-risk youth and individuals experiencing economic hardship.

As a politician who has worked to uplift historically excluded communities, we are pleased to be recognizing Supervisor Solis for the bravery and advocacy work she has continuously done for decades. We hope you can join us in conversation and recognition of our Brave Space Builder!
