Dear John,

Today is Veterans Day, a day when we come together as a nation to thank the millions of brave men and women who have served our country in the armed forces. We owe our veterans and their families a huge debt of gratitude for protecting the freedoms and values that we cherish.

If you served in the armed forces, I thank you for your service to our country. You reflect the best of our national spirit.

I'm proud to be the son and brother of veterans, and I'm grateful to have several veterans work in my office. Honoring and serving our nation's veterans is one of my most important jobs in the Senate. From hosting veterans' job fairs to securing the role of the Dover Air Force Base, I remain committed to upholding my duty to support our veterans when they return home.

Our veterans are as diverse as our nation: those who served in Korea and Vietnam, men and women who responded to the September 11th attacks by enlisting, members of the National Guard and Reserves who deployed on numerous tours, and thousands of veterans who stood guard around the world. Now they count on the promises we made to provide world class healthcare, support their educational goals through the G.I. Bill, and connect them with opportunities to transition to careers outside of military service.

This Veterans Day, let us recommit to fighting for our nation's veterans and their families. The brave men and women who serve our country deserve the very best when they come home.

Thank you,

Chris
