Take action: Children and families remain in harm's way.

John, I wanted to send you a personal reminder to make sure you saw my email below.

Is there any way you can take action today and stand with asylum seekers? It will only take a minute of your time.

Thank you — Melinda

Subject: It is time to repair the broken asylum system in the U.S.

John,

Over the past four years, the Trump administration has worked to dismantle asylum protections — unlawfully expelling asylum seekers and denying them due process, in violation of U.S. and international legal obligations.

Now, John, we have a new opportunity to reverse the damage.

Join us in helping the world's most vulnerable by calling on your representatives to urge the incoming Biden administration to halt deportations without due process and invest in a new system to keep asylum seekers safe until their case is heard.

Our nation's leaders need to act immediately to repair the damage done to the asylum system over the last four years, reunite families and ensure that the U.S. never again turns its back on the world's most vulnerable people.

Today, the U.S. southern border stands closed to those seeking safety. Families have been ripped apart and children remain separated from their parents.

Asylum seekers are being returned to Mexico, forced into crowded and unhygienic conditions where social distancing is nearly impossible, and denied access to adequate health care.

Seeking asylum is legal — even during a pandemic.

Hundreds of children separated from their parents need your help. Together, we can ensure their lives and those of many others seeking safety are at the top of the presidential agenda.

Protecting asylum seekers is the right thing to do. Can you take action right now?

Thank you for your action today. I'm thrilled to have you by our side at this critical time.
