Friend,

With voters in five more states passing marijuana initiatives, this election made clear that Americans still overwhelmingly support marijuana legalization. It’s beyond time for federal lawmakers to catch up with the public.

It seems like Congress may finally be listening. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer just confirmed that the House will vote on the MORE Act next month.

Demand that your House Representative vote for the MORE Act to end the federal war on marijuana and repair the harms of prohibition: [link removed]

The Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment & Expungement (MORE) Act would end the federal war on marijuana and begin to undo the damage of its prohibition which has disproportionately impacted Black, Latinx, and Indigenous people and low-income communities. It will decriminalize marijuana at the federal level, expunge marijuana convictions, and reinvest in communities hit hardest by drug prohibition.

The House had planned to vote on the MORE Act a couple months ago but it was delayed at the last minute. After making leadership commit to moving it forward after the elections, we’re pleased to see that it’s on track to get a vote next month.

With your support, DPA has spearheaded this groundbreaking legislation since its inception. It’s fundamentally changed the conversation about how to legalize marijuana in an equitable way that centers social and racial justice.

Now it’s the first-ever comprehensive marijuana legalization bill to ever be considered for a full House floor vote.

We need your help to make sure it passes next month: tell your House Representative to vote for the MORE Act to advance marijuana justice nationwide: [link removed]
