State Attorney General Xavier Becerra and his fellow California tyrants thought they'd seen the last opposition to the Handgun Roster. They were wrong.

Today, CGF is proud to announce the filing of Renna, et al. v. Calif. Attorney General Xavier Becerra, et al. - a suit aimed at the heart of the Roster. 

This new federal lawsuit challenges not only the recent expansion of the Roster signed into law with AB 2847, but the entire existence of the Roster itself.

“This case is a key part of our comprehensive strategy to free California from one of the most burdensome gun control regimes in the United States,” said attorney Ray DiGuiseppe, who works with organizations like CGF on civil rights litigation. “We look forward to restoring the right to keep and bear arms and, through this case, giving back to Californians the freedom they are constitutionally entitled to.”

CGF is arguing that - consistent with the Heller decision - if an arm is bearable and in common use for lawful purposes, it is protected by the Second Amendment, PERIOD. 

California has unconstitutionally treaded on your rights for too long. And that ends here. 

Between our challenge to the "Assault Weapons" ban - Miller v. Becerra - and this latest lawsuit, CGF is throwing down the gauntlet. 

The State's oppressive regulation of your Second Amendment rights is wrong; it violates the country's founding principles; and it's going to be laid to rest.
