Almost one out of every 12 Virginians -- nearly 800,000 people -- is a veteran.

As the daughter of a veteran, I know the dedication and commitment to our country that our service members and their families have. I was fortunate enough to work alongside our service members as a civilian in the Coast Guard for decades and saw how they and their families sacrificed so much for our common good.

While we honor their sacrifice and commitment today, I hope that you will join in fighting for better housing, healthcare, and job opportunities for our veterans. They have sacrificed so much for us, so we must care for them.
