We won.
You worked hard for four years. Last week, the voters decided. Make no mistake about it: despite a global pandemic, unprecedented voter suppression, mail delays, and relentless attacks on indigenous people, immigrants, and people of color, we, the people, won.
Joe Biden will be our next President—no matter what desperate actions the Trump administration may take. Biden’s election to the office of President is robust, with margins far larger than Trump’s victory in 2016. He has the largest popular vote in history and one of the largest leads in history, and the electoral vote count is not close.
Of course, Trump will not go quietly. But we knew and expected this. So far, his childish tantrums and pathetic lawsuits are not succeeding. Our electoral victory is robust, thanks to activists like you, and this makes it hard to challenge in courts. Still, we are staying vigilant. Our partners in the Protect the Results coalition are working closely with local organizers in states that potentially could be contested. As part of the coalition, we are monitoring the situation and will let you know if we decide to mobilize.
For now, however, it’s time to focus on the Senate. Biden’s presidency will be defined on whether we have power in the Senate—and we want to make sure we win.
Here’s how we win in Georgia.
Last week, Georgia stunned us with an incredible win for Joe Biden and two run-offs, which candidates Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock can still win. This victory was delivered by black-led community organizers in Georgia who registered voters and fought a notoriously entrenched system of voter suppression.
Now, the eyes of the entire nation will turn to these Senate races. We need to come to the runoff elections with the same enthusiasm that we brought in the past months but also with strategy. So here’s how we do it.
- Follow the lead of the community organizers on the ground in Georgia. Local organizers know what the community needs and how voters in Georgia are feeling. We must listen to them and give them the resources they need. We’ll be getting more information on how best to participate soon.
- Know the key dates. Here are the key dates in Georgia in the coming months.
- Georgia Election for local and state offices: December 1st. NOTE: This is different from the Runoff election, which will take place on January 5.
- Voter registration deadline for Runoff for the Senate: December 7.
- Early voting for Runoff for the Senate: December 14.
- Election day for Runoff for the Senate: January 5.
- Donate to Fair Fight and the candidates. Fair Fight, led by Stacey Abrams, contributed greatly to flipping Georgia. The candidates, Jon Ossoff and Rev. Warnock, are up against Republican incumbents with the full force and funding of the Republican machine behind them. They will need a lot of money to fund their campaigns.

- Get ready to GOTV. DemAction SF has already organized some phone banks, and more will be coming.
- Do a phone bank training with The New Georgia Project on Thursday.
- Phone Bank with DemAction SF on Saturday and Sunday.
- Sign up with Vote Forward for opportunities to write letters to Georgia. (Coming soon!)
- Sign up to volunteer with local organizers. There will be plenty of opportunities to phone bank, text bank, and even canvass, but we want to make sure local Georgia organizations are leading.
- Sign up to volunteer with Indivisible Georgia Coalition. NOTE: please be patient for the group to respond as they are overrun with volunteers and are devising the most effective strategy.
- Sign up with organizations such as the New Georgia Project and Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights to help with voter registration.
