Hi John,
Every year 46 million turkeys are brutally slaughtered for Thanksgiving, a holiday that celebrates the genocide of indigenous people with violence towards animals. While we speak out against this “holiday,” we can also save the lives of turkeys. For the third year, DxE will be heading to the frontlines to rescue turkeys from slaughter days before Thanksgiving. The same turkey farm that is charging DxE investigators for their open rescue work has agreed to release turkeys to us in a small showing of compassion. Our animal care team is working hard to find sanctuary homes for these turkeys, but we can’t save their lives without your help.
Donate $500+ to help this project come to life and have the honor of naming one of the rescued turkeys. Your gift will go directly to the sanctuary (and anything beyond $500 will help us cover the costs of coordinating the rescue).
As we carry turkeys out of a place that exploits them and bring them to a place where they are loved, we will challenge the violence that upholds some of society’s most fundamental beliefs.
And we are showing the world that we are not bound to past traditions. Just like societies before us, we have the power to create the traditions that shape the future. We can start a revolution of consciousness and spread respect for all.
