Friend,
My 31 years in the Navy were the best job I’ve ever had – serving my country. My time as Congressman was "pay back" to my country for the healthcare plan that saved my then-four year old daughter’s life from brain cancer. I owed my nation for the life of the one I most love, which is why my refrain during my first congressional campaign was: “I’m a retired Navy admiral, running on national security that begins at home — in health security, for everyone."
People ask "Why now?"
Because my country is hurting . It is great, and its people are great, but our nation — who we are — is scarred by a divide that must be closed. We can no longer watch our beloved country cry. We must have a leader that people people trust and who reminds us of who we really are and what we are capable of when we are united together .

I am a Dad who learned from his daughter’s battle what really matters. I am a sailor who learned from the Navy integrity’s values: service to country, to others above self, with accountability in answering for oneself. I was a Congressman who learned the value of listening to all Americans in my nearly two-to-one Republican District.
I ask you to contribute to my campaign, so I may contribute once more to my nation with the leadership that is needed to heal our nation . We have no choice: we cannot meet the defining challenges of our time without a united America.
Respectfully,
Joe Sestak
