*Governor Parson Encourages **Missourians**to Honor Those Who Have Served on**Veterans Day*

*(JEFFERSON CITY, MO)* Today, Governor Mike Parson released the following statement regarding the observance of Veterans Day:

"On this Veterans Day, I encourage all Missourians to honor the service, sacrifice, and courage of ournation's veterans. These brave men and women deserve the highest appreciation and utmost respect not just today but every day," *Governor Parson* said. "As Governor and a veteran myself, it is always a privilege to thank the many veterans I meet while traveling across the state. We are proud that Missouri is home to nearly 450,000 veterans, and we will always honor their service and commitment to our country. America owes a debt of gratitude to all service members who have fought to preserve thefreedoms we all know and cherish today."

This week, Governor Parson will participate in several events in honor of Veterans Day.On*Wednesday*,*November 11*, Governor Parson will speak at a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new Center for Military and Veterans Services at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph and a dedication ceremony for the newly remodeled Valk Veterans Commons at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.

On*Thursday*,*November 12*, Governor Parson will speak at Contractors at the Wall, an event hosted by the Associated General Contractors of Missouri to get the construction industry involved with the Missouri National Veterans Memorial in Perryville and help connect veterans with employment opportunities in construction.

Home to nearly 450,000 veterans, Missouri has several agencies, programs, and partnerships in place to assist and support veterans. Governor Parson and his administration are committed to making Missouri the most veteran-friendly state in the nation.
