John,

With the election moving behind us, I wanted to take a second from the bustle of your day to wish you, your family, and veterans across America a very gracious Veterans Day.

I'm relieved to know that we've defeated Donald Trump, a man unfit for the charge of his office, who demeaned and distressed veterans by attempting to besmirch our courage and sacrifices with his carelessness.

With Joe and Kamala in office, I'm confident that we'll never hear our Commander in Chief call fallen heroes "losers," attack former prisoners of war as weak, or ask that we neglect our injured service members.

Our veterans now have leaders who will prioritize their health, honor, and security.

I know because I served with the Navy for 26 years -- rising from Seaman to Commander. It was an experience unlike any other. I learned the value of living by your word, of the strength needed to live by your convictions, and of the sacrifices we all make to serve our country. I know we can count on Joe.

Here in Florida's 1st, I'm lucky enough to be in the most veteran populated district in the nation, a benefit of living near so many major military bases. I've got a lot of good friends and neighbors to lean on -- not to mention a family who takes good care of me.

On this Veterans Day, I'd ask you to think about all of the men and women who spent some of their precious time on this earth serving our great nation and say thank you to a loved one or friend who served.

Thank you so much, have a happy Veterans Day.
