Military Times | Why I chose to serve in the military
Veterans Day is an opportunity for the country to reflect on the service of those willing to put their lives on the line to protect the values we hold most dear. For those that served, it’s a chance to recall their military careers. It’s also a day to look back at the motivations behind joining one of the four branches. To some, military service was a family tradition. For others, it was a fresh start.
This year, Military Times reached out to veterans to get firsthand accounts of why they joined the military
American Military News | Concerned Veterans for America Foundation wants vet photos, videos for virtual Veterans Day parade
On Monday, the Concerned Veterans for America Foundation (CVAF) announced a nationwide virtual Veterans Day parade to honor U.S. veterans despite limitations from the coronavirus pandemic. For the virtual Veterans Day event CVAF is asking people to submit photos and videos celebrating our veterans on its Virtual Veterans Day website, then share those videos, photos, and posts on social media platforms.
For every video submitted, CVAF told American Military News it is pledging to donate an item to Veterans’ Life Centers, an organization that provides support to help veterans and prevent them from falling into crisis. CVAF’s Veterans Day event is running from November 10th through the 12th, the day after Veterans Day. |
