Friend,
After enduring four long years of brazen corruption and an historically dangerous agenda, the American people have held Donald Trump accountable at the ballot box.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all of you who made your voices heard with your vote. Thanks also to those who donated and worked to elect Democrats from the top of the ticket down.
And last but far from least, please join me in saluting the poll workers who not only volunteered their time, but also took on a heightened risk to their own health to make sure every single vote is counted. You all are American heroes upholding the essential principle of our democracy – that our elections are, and must continue to be, free and fair.
There's no question that this moment deserves celebration, but I want to be clear: We may have defeated Trump, but we did not defeat Trumpism. His extremist agenda will continue through his allies who still hold office in Congress and across the country.
I understand that is disappointing. Like you, I wholeheartedly hoped this election would deliver a clear repudiation of everything Trump represents. But this is not a time to be discouraged. It's a time to be determined.
The finish line was never going to be the 2020 election. The fight to save our democracy is a marathon, and it will require an enduring commitment from each and every one of us. But it's people like you who make me so excited to roll up my sleeves and get to work.
That brings me to an important question. As we head into this new administration, I want to make sure your priorities remain at the center of my work in the Senate – so it's critical that I hear from you directly:
Will you take just a minute to share your thoughts and concerns with me in a quick survey? I can't tell you how much I value your direct feedback.

Thank you so much,
