John —

I grew up in Thousand Oaks, CA — a town like any other, and for so many years, I never imagined my family would fall victim to this country’s gun violence epidemic. Until we did.

In 2005, my mother was shot and killed instantly with a single bullet to the back by a man with a history of violence. And my father — after being shot multiple times — was critically injured.

I used to think tragedies like these happened elsewhere, but what I learned on that day is that no community in our country is safe from gun violence. It’s why I started a chapter of Brady on my college campus in 2007 and later joined Brady as their vice president of policy — and it’s why I’m writing to you today.

While the pain of my mother’s death is something I live with every day, I am always filled with hope when I witness Brady’s grassroots power in action. Because of you and the power of our votes and activism, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris — two unapologetic gun violence prevention champions — are headed to the White House. Because of you, we have our greatest opportunity to make change in years.

I know this country can take transformative steps to prevent gun violence and save lives, but we’re going to need your help to demand it happens, John.

So I’m personally asking: Will you make a donation to Brady’s First 100 Days Fund before midnight tonight so we have the resources we need to pass common-sense gun safety reforms, save lives, and finally end America’s gun violence epidemic?

Our fight against the shameful, bloody inaction of Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell begins right now. Each day we wait, another 100 Americans are killed by senseless gun violence. That’s why Brady has built an ambitious plan to tackle the gun violence epidemic in Biden’s first 100 days as president. But right now, we’re falling just short of our fundraising goal, and we need grassroots supporters like you to close the gap.

Brady is the only organization working across Congress, courts, and communities to make the tangible change we need in this country. But to hit the ground running on day one of a Biden-Harris administration, we need your support today.

Please John, will you make a donation to Brady’s First 100 Days Fund before midnight tonight so we have the resources we need to pass common-sense gun safety reforms, save lives, and finally end America’s gun violence epidemic?

Our reach and ability to create change depends on you, John, so thanks for everything you do to help this cause.
