Congressional Republicans have decided to put our very democracy in the line of fire in their cultish devotion to one-term President Donald Trump and his alternative reality.
Despite a convincing win by President-elect Joe Biden, Donald Trump refuses to concede the election. Instead, he is fabricating claims of rampant voter fraud, just as he did in 2016. These false and reckless claims are a direct attack on the legitimacy of our election system and pose a long-term threat to the survival of our republic. And only a small handful of Republicans have dared to stand up to him and stand up for our democracy. Too many are standing by and going along with his unfounded and absurd claims of massive voter fraud.
This is blatantly unacceptable, and we need to fight back. We’re mobilizing an effort to send thousands of messages to Congress. Will you immediately send a message to your local Congressional representative or Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy?
For years, this is how Republicans have operated. Donald Trump makes up some crazy conspiracy theory out of the blue, and then they all scramble over themselves, futilely trying to find any evidence to back up his wild claims. Remember when Trump established his Voter Fraud Commission in May 2017? He shut it down 8 months later without finding any evidence of widespread voter fraud.
But now Trump and the Republicans are at it again: Lying to the American People to gin up their rabid base while undermining the concept of free and fair U.S. elections in the process. We can’t let this happen. We need to demand that Congress immediately pressures Donald Trump to concede the election. Will you instantly message Congress now?
Joe Biden is our President-elect. He will be our next President. The only question is how much damage Trump and his congressional enablers will do on his way out the door. We need a groundswell of grassroots support to get them to stop — are you with us?
