** ABOUT THIS SERIES
------------------------------------------------------------
The world of work and meaningful connection for people over 50 is challenged by a number of factors at any time, but never as dramatically as during Covid-19. The Career Center's Creativity Doesn't Age Speaker Series invites guest speakers who have knowledge and commitment to addressing strategies for our community to connect and engage in creative ways during this time of physical distancing, and beyond. Of course, topics highlighted by our speakers are relevant to arts professionals at all ages and stages of their lives and careers.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

Laura Nova is a New York City based artist and educator who makes work that is action oriented and site specific, encouraging both activist and active audience participation. Rooted in social relationships, her work examines the dynamics of social interaction. Interdisciplinary, participative, and collaborative, language and technology are central in mediating communication with traditional and digital methodologies (text, image, video, sound, sculpture, installation, and performance). Projects such as, "Feed Me A Story," focus on memory, identity, and immigration of senior citizens by sharing secret family recipes in a documentary - style video cookbook. Nova's residencies include SPARC (Seniors Partnering with Artists Citywide). Currently an Associate Professor of Expanded Media in the Creative Art and Technology program at Bloomfield College, Nova is also a New York City Department for the Aging Public Artist in Residence
