Celebrate the Nation’s Nurse Practitioners This Week (and Always)
National Nurse Practitioner Week is November 8-14, and an opportunity—as the American Association of Nurse Practitioners says—to highlight the breadth and depth of the role and the critical difference NPs make in the lives of patients, especially during the pandemic. The Campaign salutes and thanks the nation’s 290,000 nurse practitioners.
At a virtual conference aptly named “In Crisis and Calm: Leading With Purpose,” the American Academy of Nursing has inducted its 2020 fellows. The Campaign for Action was proud to honor a number of Campaign allies among those newly named AAN fellows and Living Legends. Congratulations to all honored as leaders in education, management, practice, and research.
AARP, WHO Aligned When It Comes to Year of the Nurse

New AARP Tool Tracks Nursing Homes During Pandemic
Nursing home residents are especially vulnerable to COVID-19, but until now there’s been little coordinated tracking of the spread of the virus in these facilities and how well-equipped they are. The AARP Nursing Home COVID-19 Dashboard changes that. The recently launched tracker points to where resources are most needed by identifying areas of concern at the national and state levels.
Now’s the time to get involved: AARP and the Nurses on Boards Coalition seek nurses to represent AARP on community boards working to improve patient care, support family caregivers, build healthier communities and advocate for policies that lead to better health and well-being. Volunteer
