Though we may not have been able to pull through and win our race for the U.S. Senate here in Mississippi this November, we’ve seen a massive movement for change in the South like never before, including in Georgia.

This January, two Democratic candidates for Senate are advancing to runoff elections: Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. It all comes down to these two races. If we win these seats, we flip the Senate.

Because no candidate won 50% or more of the vote in each of their races on November 3, Rev. Warnock and Mr. Ossoff will face their Republican opponents head-to-head in runoffs on January 5. They need our support now more than ever.

Rev. Warnock, a pastor and community leader, came in first place in his race against Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler in Georgia’s special election, despite the fact that she poured $23 million of her own personal fortune into her campaign. That’s because Rev. Warnock was backed by grassroots supporters, just like how you supported me these past few months.

If he can pull off a win this January, Rev. Warnock will make history and become the very first Black senator Georgia has ever seen , and will fight for greater access to affordable health care, the dignity of working people, and voting rights. Let’s do this for the Rev!

Jon Ossoff saw similar success in his race against Republican Senator David Perdue this November, ending up in a virtual tie with his opponent. Like Cindy Hyde-Smith, Jon’s opponent wants to take away health care from his constituents in the middle of a pandemic, downplayed COVID-19, and hasn’t held a public town hall in years.

That’s why Jon wants to give Georgians real leadership and spend the next six years expanding health care access and affordability for all Georgians, investing in small businesses and clean infrastructure, and fighting for working families. With enough support, he can win.

All eyes are on the Peach State. These two runoffs are critical not only to the people of Georgia, but to our country as a whole. With Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the White House, if we win these two seats, we’ll not only win majority control of the Senate — we can start making real change immediately without obstruction from Mitch McConnell.
