John,

A week ago, the American people chose a new president and vice president in Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, who will act on climate and protect us from polluters. North Carolinians re-elected our environmental champion Gov. Roy Cooper and Attorney General Josh Stein. We are elated at these outcomes, and look forward to continuing to work with them to advance our priorities.

But the election isn’t over. Below these races on the ballot are some that are still too close to call.

Specifically, our amazing Chief Justice Cheri Beasley trails by fewer than 3,000 votes. The state Supreme Court is the people’s recourse for justice against polluters and political gerrymandering, and the court majority hangs in the balance.

There is also at least one state Senate race that could be tipped by outstanding absentee and provisional ballots.

These ballots may have issues that you can help voters “cure.” What does that mean? You can help ensure every vote counts and that their choices for pro-environment candidates aren’t thrown out.

Over the next two days before the November 12 deadline, our allies are looking for volunteers to call people whose votes may not count unless they fix errors or address their eligibility to vote.

Thanks for continuing to fight for every vote,
