Justice Brett Kavanaugh was put on the United States Supreme Court even after serious, credible sexual assault allegations were levied against him due to an incomplete, rushed confirmation process. A year later, an allegation by Deborah Ramirez has been brought to light — but it was never looked into during the 2018 investigation.
There were elected officials who spoke out against Kavanaugh and there are those who looked the other way — like Henry Cuellar, who turned a blind eye to Brett Kavanaugh’s wrongdoing and even congratulated him in a press release.
This is an insult to those who have been hurt by Kavanaugh, as well as all of those who have been affected by sexual assault. We are better than this. We do not have to rely on men like Henry Cuellar to make decisions that will affect our laws for years to come; we have a choice starting with our primary in March.
