McConnell, Graham warn GOP Senate majority on the line in Georgia — The Hill
The fate of the Senate now rests with the people of Georgia — and Republicans are sounding the alarm and preparing to pull out all the stops to try to win these two January Senate runoffs.
Not only will the winner determine if Democrats or Mitch McConnell control the Senate, but the high-stakes contests will shape the course of President-elect Biden's administrative appointments and legislative agenda.
Bottom line: if Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff don’t win their runoffs, we are all stuck with more years of Mitch McConnell’s obstructionist gavel — blocking progress on pretty much everything we care about. That’s why I’m asking you to click here and chip in whatever you can to help Democrats win in Georgia and take back the Senate!
TAKE BACK THE SENATE
Both Republicans David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler have been under investigation for benefiting personally by violating laws that prevent members of Congress from profiting off of inside information. And they both have worked harder to appease Donald Trump than to address the needs of Georgians.
Their joint demand yesterday that Georgia’s Secretary of State (a Republican) resign was just the latest attempt to gain favor with Trump by trying to advance his delusional attack that the 2020 election was "stolen" from him.
Such dangerous conduct undermines our democracy and puts our national security at risk. It has no place in the United States Senate — or elsewhere.
Reverend Warnock and Jon Ossoff will fight for the people of Georgia, work to expand access to affordable health care, get our economy back on track, fight for social justice and support a science-based response to finally get a handle on the COVID-19 crisis. But none of that is possible if they don't both win in January. Chip in $3 or whatever you can to help us win this final 2020 battle.
