Not even Victoria Beckham is safe from the anti-human progress zealots.

Reuters (9/13/19) reports: "Climate activists glued themselves to a door and poured out a "bleeding" red carpet at the opening of London Fashion Week on Friday, seeking to draw attention to the apparel industry's impact on the environment. Protesters from the Extinction Rebellion group have vowed to disrupt the five-day event, where Burberry, Victoria Beckham, Erdem and other luxury brands are presenting their spring 2020 womenswear collections. The group, which has staged protests in recent months calling for action to tackle climate change, had asked the British Fashion Council (BFC) to cancel the event. Wearing white outfits with blood-like stains, five protesters glued themselves to one entrance of the main London Fashion Week venue. Other demonstrators briefly lay in a pool of pink liquid, which they said depicted blood. The protesters arrived before the first show and were gone a few hours later. Fashion editors, buyers and bloggers entered the building through another main door nearby. '(The demonstrators) are calling for the fashion industry to tell the truth about its contribution to the climate and ecological crisis,' the group said in a statement."

"The fragility in the Middle East shows that those who say we can turn our back on American-produced energy are foolish and risk our economic and energy security. In reality, the U.S. should be looking to broaden offshore energy exploration to discover new resources, secure our energy future and strengthen our economy"

At least Benji can go grab a beer after he finishes delivering his expert testimony...

CNS (9/16/19) reports:  Democrat lawmakers have invited 16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg to testify before a joint House hearing on Wednesday on the 'global climate crisis.' Thunberg, who has won plaudits around the world for her 'school strike for climate' campaign, is due to appear together with three young Americans before a joint hearing of the new House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis and a House Foreign Affairs subcommittee dealing with energy and environmental issues. Their respective chairmen, Reps. Kathy Castor (D-Fla.) and Bill Keating (D-Mass.), have entitled their hearing, 'Voices Leading the Next Generation on the Global Climate Crisis.' Together with Thunberg, this week’s scheduled hearing will feature three Americans – 17-year-old Jamie Margolin, co-founder of a youth climate organization called This is Zero Hour; 20-year-old Vic Barrett, a fellow with the Alliance for Climate Education; and 21-year-old Benji Backer, president of the American Conservation Coalition, a nonprofit that aims to engage conservatives on the climate issue."

We need more of this.

Bloomberg (9/12/19) reports: "The U.S. briefly became the world’s No. 1 oil exporter as record shale production found its way to global customers, and there are prospects for more. Surging output from shale helped America ship almost nine million barrels a day of crude and oil products in June, surpassing Saudi Arabia, the International Energy Agency said in a report, citing gross export figures. There’s room to send even more supply overseas as companies add infrastructure to transport the burgeoning production from fields in Texas and New Mexico to the coast. Gains in U.S. supply are undermining efforts by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies, whose production cuts are in their third year in a bid to drain stockpiles. The swelling American output, as well as deepening concerns over global demand fuelled by a prolonged U.S.-China trade war, have prompted a drop of almost 20 percent in benchmark Brent crude from an April high."

This, not so much.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch (9/16/19) reports: "President Donald Trump has tentatively approved a plan to increase the amount of biofuels that oil refiners are required to blend each year to compensate for exemptions handed out to small refiners by the Environmental Protection Agency, two sources familiar with the matter said. The plan is intended to address a major source of anger in U.S. farm country as Trump seeks to hold favor in the Midwest ahead of next year’s election, but it is likely to upset the oil industry, another important political constituency, underscoring the pitfalls of U.S. biofuel policy...That would come in addition to a tentative agreement to boost next year’s blending volumes by 1 billion gallons, including 500 million gallons for conventional biofuels like corn-based ethanol and 500 million gallons for advanced biofuels like biodiesel, the sources said."

Is AOC an RNC plant?

E&E News (9/13/19) reports: "Republicans gathered here to plot strategy for taking back the House majority in next year's election believe they could get help from an unlikely source: the progressive Green New Deal. President Trump and leaders meeting for a three-day House GOP retreat took turns bashing the sweeping plan for eliminating carbon emissions that they paint as a sign of creeping socialism. The president and GOP said they believe they can gain the 19 seats needed to take back the House. 'The Green New Deal, we just want that thing to go as long as it can,' Trump told Republicans at a dinner last night. 'Anybody that can win office promoting the Green New Deal, they deserve to win [because] they have the greatest line of crap anybody has had in the history of politics...We won't let Democrats obliterate industry and cripple working-class families with sky-high energy prices," the president added to applause. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) told reporters this morning the Republicans can take back the House next year by drawing contrasts with Democrats on economic issues, including the costs of environmental regulation."
