We wanted to make sure you knew that the final vote on the Health and Science curriculum standards at the State Board of Education is being taken at the upcoming meeting on November 17-20.
This is our last shot to make sure that comprehensive, LGBTQ-inclusive sex education and the realities of climate change are taught in all Texas public schools. Here are the two actions you can take to ensure these critical goals become reality:
- Register to testify at the virtual hearing. Registration will be open from November 12 at 8 a.m. CT until 5 p.m. CT on November 13. The public hearings on Health and Science will take place on Tuesday, November 17. Sign up at the link and you will be sent a comprehensive guide to testifying.
- Submit your public comment on the standards. The deadline to submit your comment is November 13. Click on the link to go to our submission form, which contains all of the instructions and guidance you will need.
This is our last chance to say loudly and clearly: Teach the Truth in Texas schools.
