Dear John ,

You’re one of 130,000 people taking regular action for public services for people not profit – and that number is growing fast.

You’re having an impact.

YOUR IMPACT:

You’re pushing for local public health teams to get the cash for track and trace, not Serco

This campaign is getting huge traction thanks to you:
  • Failed outsourcing company Serco is under more pressure every day from the press, politicians and the public
  • Health Secretary Matt Hancock has been hearing from Conservative, Labour and Green council leaders after you contacted them
  • 20,000 of you took action to help shift the government - now Conservative MPs Jeremy Hunt, David Davis and Robert Jenrick are all saying we need to prioritise *local* contact tracing to save lives
  • Dido Harding was repeatedly questioned this afternoon about whether local contact tracing is better
You’re pushing to protect our NHS in trade deals
  • 300,000 of you called on the House of Lords to protect our NHS in trade deals
  • Hundreds of you have written emails and made phone calls to keep the pressure up
  • Now, a cross-party group of peers has introduced an amendment to protect our NHS from trade deals
  • The SNP has launched a bill that would protect our NHS
  • And tomorrow, many of you are ramping up the pressure with local actions which will ramp up pressure on MPs in key seats who we need on side to defend our NHS
You’re the voice for public services for people not profit

Because of pressure from the people on this list, public ownership is on the agenda.

The railway in Wales is coming back into public ownership! Buses in Greater Manchester are likely to be regulated for the benefit of passengers. Meanwhile privatised water companies are feeling the pressure to look after rivers properly instead of polluting them for profit.

This has been a hard year for so many of us, our loved ones and our communities. But your action, kindness and generosity inspire us every day.

Thanks to you, we’re keeping our spirits up as best we can in lockdown! You can keep your spirits up by joining us at our weekly webinars to hear campaign updates and listen to a solidarity song – every Thursday lunchtime for half an hour 12.30-1pm.

THANK YOU for taking ACTION for public services for people not profit.

We couldn’t do any of it without you!

Sending you solidarity during these difficult times.
