John, it's still
setting in that we did it. And we're ready to get to work.
So why, instead of celebrating this massive victory and charting a path
forward for what's next, are moderate Democrats, pundits, and even John
Kasich piling on our movement as the reason for a handful of House and
Senate losses?
Don't believe the hype.
The reality is that progressives organized with the Biden-Harris campaign
all the way. We pushed the election to the top in cities like Detroit,
Philadelphia, Milwaukee, and Atlanta.
The reality is that our movement is growing because we listen to, love,
and hear people. We didn't get elected by our constituents to play the
blame game and intraparty politics. People want results.
The reality is that progressive ideas are WINNING. Not a single incumbent
House Democrat in a key swing district who supported Medicare for All lost
their seat. And even voters in ruby-red states like Florida and South
Dakota approved raising the minimum wage to $15/hour and legalizing
medical marijuana, respectively.
The reality is that doing our part to mobilize voters around bold reforms
— and winning while we do it — will always be under attack by the status
