The fascist is out. Socialists won races all over the country. And now it’s time to organize. DSA has added ✨10,000✨ new members in five short weeks and we are far from stopping. Akron DSA is the 23rd fastest growing chapter in the nation and we are so proud and excited for the growth we’ve seen.

Right now there are many exciting ways to get involved! We recently hosted a virtual Townhall called "What's Next, Akron?" where we got to hear from members of our community on local issues and how to get involved. We heard from Lauren Green-Hull of Fair Housing Akron, Stéphanie of Citizens Climate Lobby and Akron DSA as well as Joshua Bellis of Akron DSA who is running against Ward 1's neoliberal incumbent Rich Swirsky for City Council next election cycle. Akron DSA is building an organization that will take on the corporatist Democrats, cops, and monied interests that run the city and ask the hard questions. Like why Akron has the highest eviction rate in Ohio and the 24th highest in the country. And why the city budget is so heavily swayed towards the police department instead of things like public health and our homelessness crisis. Are you ready to join us as we take them on?

The first and most important step is becoming a dues paying member of the Democratic Socialists of America and attend one of our upcoming meetings! We have a lot happening so we’ve broken down below what’s happening and when:
