When we first envisioned 50CAN’s National Voices Fellowship ([link removed]) in 2018, we were concerned that the growing partisanship across the country was breaking down the hard fought bipartisan ties from which most education reform solutions had emerged. With each year since that first cohort of fellows, the need for a space to rebuild these ties has only grown more urgent.
The stakes are high. Children are slipping further and further behind as a result of the pandemic while policy makers struggle to offer solutions that meet the scale of the problem. Challenges and opportunities to improve funding, measurement, teacher preparation and other issues loom large. The National Voices Fellowship was created for activists and leaders who want to get things done for kids and solve these immense challenges by working across the partisan divide.

Now in its third year, 50CAN’s National Voices Fellowship takes a diverse group of incredible, emerging education leaders and provides them with training in communications, policy, advocacy and politics, along with mentorship by some of the sector’s most prolific thought leaders.
