After a year full of various climate catastrophes including widespread wildfires, an increased amount of hurricanes, an economic crisis, and a global pandemic, the need for clean energy legislation has never been more urgent. We have solutions available to us in Illinois to begin addressing the climate crisis for our state, which is why passing the Clean Energy Jobs Act can’t wait. So, what are our leaders waiting for?

We would like you to join us in putting pressure on legislators to pass CEJA now during our lead up to Virtual Lobby Day in what we and fellow members of the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition are calling our Week of Action.

The Week of Action is us telling our legislators that enough is enough; we need climate action and we need it now. Each day, there will be a new action for you to participate in to let government officials know that we NEED for them to act because inaction is no longer an option.

Join us in the Week of Action by finding the full list of actions here.

Today, Monday, November 9th kicks off the Week of Action by focusing our efforts on Gov. Pritzker and getting the word out about Virtual Lobby Day! Gov. Pritzker came out in support of clean energy legislation earlier this year, but he has yet to support the Clean Energy Jobs Act.

Here are three ways you can take action TODAY to hold Gov. Pritzker accountable to passing CEJA while spreading the word about Thursday’s Virtual Lobby Day:

  1. Call Gov. Pritzker’s office and tell him why we need to pass CEJA now! Not sure what to say? No worries! You’ll be provided a sample script with all the information you need.
  2. After you register for Virtual Clean Energy Lobby Day on Thursday, Nov. 12, recruit two friends to register and join you! Register here for Virtual Lobby Day.
  3. Send our new Week of Action page to five friends, neighbors, or family members who want to see a clean energy future for Illinois! You can post on social media too, just don’t forget to use #CEJACantWait!
Thank you!
