It’s not just Trump who is refusing to accept Joe Biden’s win – many top Republicans are either completely silent in acknowledging the results or worse, they’re supporting Trump’s unhinged and unsupported attack on our democratic process.
Despite the widespread acknowledgement on Saturday that former Vice President Joe Biden won the election against President Trump, many Republican leaders still refuse to concede, back up Trump’s baseless – and reckless – claims of fraud, or are remaining conspicuously silent on the outcome of the election altogether.
This cowardly and dangerous abandonment of longstanding precedent only further creates distrust in the process and exacerbates the bitter political divisions that have plagued the nation for years.
As we turn our attention and efforts towards flipping two senate seats in Georgia, we need to acknowledge the outcome of the presidential election and move forward to begin planning a progressive agenda for a Biden/Harris administration.
It’s time for Republicans to acknowledge the defeat.
