A record number of Americans made their voices heard in this consequential election and voted for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. And even though the race has been independently called for Biden, the will of the American people is being directly impeded by a Trump-nominee that refuses to declare Joe Biden the President-elect.

Emily Murphy, administrator of the General Services Administration (GSA), has the power to formally declare the winner of the Presidential race—in fact, it’s her job. Yet, she has failed to write the federal government’s official declaration of the winner of the presidential race: Joe Biden. 

This affects the Biden administration’s access to critical resources for their transition into power and directly hinders Biden’s ability to enact executive action on gun violence in his first 100 days in office.
