Hi,

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the next president and vice president of the United States.

We just elected the first Black and South Asian woman vice president in our nation's history. My heart is full to bursting.

Because of the tireless effort of Democrats across the country, millions of American lives are going to change for the better -- including countless families here in Texas. And with Kamala Harris as our vice president, communities of color across the United States will finally have the champion they deserve.

Kamala broke barriers her entire life to get here. Now, she's going to keep doing exactly what she's always done: fight like hell for working people, and champion those who need it most.

Because of Kamala, young Black girls are going to grow up in this country with the living proof that they can do anything they set their mind to. There's a big blue sky of opportunity where that thick glass ceiling used to be.

There is so much to be joyful about.

This took work and grit and guts from every single woman of color who threw heart and soul into electing a vice president who reflects us, and from every American who stood with us every step of the way. What you've accomplished is nothing short of magnificent. Black women are the backbone of the Democratic Party, and with absolutely everything on the line, we carried this country forward once more.

To every woman of color who carried Kamala on her back and in her heart, this victory belongs to you.

Our fight is not over. That's the beauty of democracy. Republicans are not going to give up easily, because they know that we will enact change that will be felt for generations. However, our movement is unstoppable. This year, we moved Texas closer than ever to turning blue. Our energy inspired our fellow Democrats around the country this year, and what we've built will only continue to grow.

Let's soak it all in, relish this victory, rest up -- and then get back out there. The fight continues and our movement rolls forward. You can help keep up the momentum right now by chipping in $7 to fight for justice, equality, compassion, and freedom in 2021 and beyond.
