Dear Friend,

Americans knew what was at stake this election for their environment — and from shore to shore, we spoke up. The last four years have been a courageous, determined, and inspirational effort to safeguard the protections that keep our waterways clean and healthy.

Under the Trump administration, we’ve fought in court and on the ground to stop the illegal rollbacks of national environmental protections and to restore our nation’s waters. Now, as a new president and Congress stand poised to assume power, we have an opportunity that we must seize.

We need your partnership, right now, to advance our priorities for the next four years, and we need your support now. Don’t wait: Make a generous donation today so we can hit the ground running. ([link removed])

Make no mistake — we have an enormous amount of work ahead of us. We must work together with advocates like you to restore our environmental safeguards and protect drinkable, fishable, swimmable water across the United States.

It’s clear what our priorities must be as we look forward to the next four years — and it’s also clear we have our work cut out for us.

In the next four years, we must:
* Restore Clean Water Act protections for our nation’s waters. We’ll be calling on the Biden administration to take immediate action and begin restoring our vital environmental laws.
* Protect our waters against toxic coal pollution. Coal-fired power plants are the no. 1 source of toxic water pollution in our country. We will push the Biden administration to restore strong regulations requiring safer management and disposal of toxic coal ash.
* Reduce and regulate industrial animal agriculture pollution. We will urge the Biden administration to reform the corporate-controlled industrial animal production system which pollutes our environment, creates dangerous and unfair working conditions, harms independent farmers and rural communities, and makes our food less safe.
* Transition away from plastics. We'll push for support of the Break Free from Plastics Act as one of our top legislative priorities, and will be urging the Biden administration to support it as well.

It will take time, energy, and resources to achieve real progress, but most of all, Friend, it will take dedicated partners like YOU to achieve these goals.

It's time to get started, and I must ask for your urgent action. Give $250, $100, $50, or any amount today — and kickstart the next four years, as we fight for drinkable, fishable, swimmable water. ([link removed])

We'll be sending you more details on how we'll take on this work in the coming days — in the meantime, get prepared and get excited to support our continued efforts ([link removed]) in making our rivers, streams, estuaries, oceans, lakes, and creeks healthier and cleaner.

To clean water,
Marc Yaggi
Executive Director
