UPDATED: Prayers Needed as Media Projects Election for Biden
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2
On Saturday, an email went out from our office in Colorado Springs, stating former Vice President Joe Biden had won the presidential election. While the media had projected that victory, the election remains very much subject to recounts and legal challenges in key states.
We have heard from many of our friends, ministry partners and state pro-family leaders—who were not involved in that communication, and which did not reflect their views—with significant concerns about the integrity of the election and ongoing litigation. We share those concerns and recognize that President Trump is entitled to pursue every legal avenue to ensure a fair outcome—especially in an election so close and so fraught with questions. It was not our intent to diminish those efforts with our communication.
We sincerely apologize for the email, and the frustration we caused—and therefore have updated our previous article. Our intent had been to express that though our nation will face unprecedented challenges if Joe Biden is, in fact, the victor, our ultimate hope remains in the Lord. In addition, our calling as Christians remains the same—to be salt and light in our nation. These principles will always guide our organization, and we remain confident in the comfort and unity only the Lord can provide. We also remain committed to looking forward and laboring to protect our families and advance our values, no matter who wins the White House.
We know you look to Family Policy Alliance for accurate information and news, and we hope you will continue to partner with us for a nation and states where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive and life is cherished. While we continue to await the ultimate and certified outcome of this race for the White House, please join us in praying for those who are working to ensure the integrity of the election, and for our nation.
Standing for the family of believers,
