John, it’s official: we are headed to Washington D.C.
Yesterday, we celebrated President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris’s monumental victory. Our nation rejected the last four years of bigotry, racism, and hatred from the White House and saved our democracy.
But seeing our democracy live on another day is not enough. The people of St. Louis have elected our next president, vice president, and myself all for the same reason: we need transformative change that meets our needs. Our needs are urgent, and our pain is real. For the sake of those who have the very least, this moment must not be a time for complacency. It must be a moment for leading with radical love.
Radical love is the progressive agenda: ensuring that everyone has healthcare, housing, education, clean water to drink and clean air to breathe. Black organizers in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Detroit, and so many cities across the nation united behind this agenda to deliver the Biden presidency. Now we bring that movement with us to Congress to continue the fight.

To build a sustainable movement, we must continue to organize and expand our coalition. To retake the Senate, expand control of the House, and elect a progressive president in 2024, we need to get back to work. To deliver transformative change for our constituents, we need to get back to work. And if we can expand the incredible organizing work that is being done in St. Louis across the state, Missouri will be the next state to flip blue!
